2. Hosting

This website is hosted by Hetzner Online GmbH. When visiting the website, server log files are automatically collected:

  • IP address (anonymized after 7 days)
  • Date and time of access
  • Accessed URL
  • Browser and operating system
  • Referrer URL

Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in the secure provision of the website). A data processing agreement (DPA) exists with Hetzner. Data processing takes place in Germany/EU.

3. Contact Form

When you contact us via the contact form, your information (name, email address, message) is processed to handle your inquiry.

Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (pre-contractual measures) or Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in responding to inquiries). Data is deleted after 6 months, unless a further business relationship is established.

4. Website Analytics (Umami)

To see which content actually gets read, we collect anonymous usage statistics with Umami. The software runs on our own server at umami.ittrail.cloud. The data never leaves that server.

  • No cookies are set and nothing is stored on your device.
  • Your IP address is not stored. It is processed only briefly, to derive an anonymous identifier for the current day.
  • That identifier changes daily, so you cannot be recognised across several days.
  • No user profile is created, and there is no tracking across other websites.

Only aggregated details are recorded: the page visited, the referring page, approximate origin at country level, device type, browser and screen size. None of this lets us identify you.

The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; our legitimate interest is understanding which content is needed. Since no cookies are set and no personal data is stored, no consent is required and there is consequently no cookie banner.

5. Fonts (Self-Hosted)

All fonts used are hosted locally on our server. No connections to external font services are established.

6. Cookies

This website uses only technically necessary cookies. No tracking or marketing cookies are used.

7. Quell-Control Center (Mobile App)

This privacy policy additionally applies to the "Quell-Control Center" app (iOS/Android).

No collection of personal data. The app does not collect, store or transmit any personal data of its users; a user account is not required.

  • Bluetooth: used exclusively locally to find and control nearby Quell devices. No Bluetooth or location data is transmitted to us or third parties.
  • Location permission (Android): technically required by Android for the Bluetooth scan; the app does not use or transmit any location data.
  • Local settings (volume, soundscape, PIN) remain solely on the device or in the secure storage of the smartphone.
  • Optional cloud login (administrators only): solely for firmware management, administrators can optionally sign in to the Quell Cloud; only the login credentials are transmitted for authentication. Not required for normal use.
  • No tracking, no analytics, no advertising.

9. Storage Duration

  • Server log files: 7 days
  • Contact form data: 6 months
  • Contract data: up to 7 years (according to BAO — Austrian Federal Fiscal Code)
